Okay, I am getting very close to publication time.

So, some research into how to do it with each service.

I already know that I am on the hook for $99/year for an iOS Developer's License and another $99/year for a Mac Developer's License. And I know they take a 30% cut.

Okay, onto Android/Google Play.

A one time $25 fee, no problem.

The same 30% cut, okay.

However, they require that you have a Google Wallet Merchant account for handling payments. And they take only 5% or 1.2% and 30 cents per purchase.

So, assuming the 1.2%/30cents option:
Sale price 0.99
30% commission 0.30
30 cents fee 0.30
1.2% fee 0.02
-------------------
My net 0.37 cents

Is this what actually happens?

Amazon (for Kindle) waves the $99/year registration fee for the first year and takes a 30% cut. And I haven't yet figured out how they handle payments (whether they just collect and send to my account or require a merchant account setup like Google).

Cheers,

My guess is that they only take that when they pay you, and im assuming they don't pay you per purchased app but montly. Im just guessing though

If you are listing through Google Play, they wave the transaction fees and only keep 30% exactly like Apple. It's only if you are selling digital or physical goods through Google Wallet, outside of Google Play, that the other fees apply.

I have an app with in-app purchases for $0.99 and receive $0.69 per purchase.

Also, Amazon requires that you send them tax information and specify a payment method before you can receive payment. As I recall they only allow electronic transfer via a bank account (personal or business).

Thank you xCept. That is a relief (and makes sense).

Looking at this page the transaction fee should be 5% for small transactions as it takes the lesser of the two options.

Edit: Nevermind
