I was wondering what the difference between Static Lights and Dynamic Lights is.

Does one look better than the other?

Static lights get baked into the texture of the level when you build it and they usually look much better.

Dynamic lights use the engine and memory to turn off and on, but you can do just that - turn them off and on in your game. Static lights cant be turned off.

So you might use static lights in your game for something like a sun outside...and then you might use dynamic lights in a room that needs a light switch to turn them off.

Does that help?

Also, I'd recommend to use fewer dynamic lights as they take up more memory when testing a game.

I knew that dynamic lights took up more memory, I just didn't know what else they did. And since they took up more memory, I thought they'd have better quality.

Thanks agin Burger and Bullshock!
