We thinking with the new mod to go back to a more stable version and how people would feel about this.

Option's we been thinking was go back to v1.15 or v1.16 and add all the new features of v1.20.

Another Option was to use a private mod that we already made as a base that very stable and is built in v1.17.

So What version of FPSC do you use and find the most stable?

What version would you be happy to go back too ?

Or are you happy with the latest update?

Yes, considering I rewrote my entire source. My update worked out well.

Oh, you mean v1.15/6/7/8/9/20, don't you? Neither. I like the version we have.

Just a reminder... games containing more than 5 levels would not build. This was addressed in v1.17 because v1.16 was where it was discovered. Not sure if only v1.16 had this problem or if it was the earlier versions. Keep that in mind if you do go back past v1.16.

Do we get a cookie for doing the survey?


There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

i use version 118 because that's when the stock hands were added and i think they are great.... i wish i knew enough to give you guys a good answer, but i don't.

v1.18.017 with waspmod works pretty much flawlessly for me.

I found v1.18 nice, smooth and very fast. But then again v1.20 new features are great!

i use v1.17 and v1.19 on different computers. Those are the most stable imo

i started 1.19, went to 1.20.10. Both have several (different) issues.
using fpsc for 7 months now, so i don't know about earlier versions.

did you consider all the modelpacks? tf341 needs at least 1.18.x, and so on..

Hey there,

I think that FPSC 1.17 is the "best" version since the introduction of Mark's shaders. Therefore Doomster modifies it for Canalyst.
It is relatively stable and uses less memory than the newer versions, which buys me, because I'm after every single kilobyte of level-memory when building a testgame (and when loading a built game).

In this case just go with 1.17. I use 1.20 at the moment but do not know how stable it is as I never released anything big with it. My biggest release was running on 1.17 and did okay.

I'd ask Ertlov about it as he has released a much bigger game recently.
