All-In-One, Aura DEMO download

Legend has it that the Champanova, the flagship of the once mighty Galactic Trading Corp (GTC), was filled with half the world’s wealth when it vanished from known space 50 years ago. So when the ship mysteriously drifted back into the Solar System, apparently abandoned, there was a mass panic by the world’s population to capture the craft and claim the treasure as their own.

Round 3 Entry Video

You play as one of the many raiding individuals trying to reach the Mothernode – the control centre of the Champanova that will grant to access to the wealth the ship contains. The location of the Mothernode is not known, lost in history as the databanks of the GTC were wiped as it went into financial meltdown following the loss of the ship.

Raiders start at the docking entrance to the Champanova and have to make their way through a series of connected store rooms. Each store room is controlled by a security node in the middle of the storage area and is completely surrounded by storage containers. The security node grants the user access to one of the connecting storage areas, but also activates the internal security systems which destroys all the remaining storage containers. Access to each storage area is via four small access points in the four corners of the area.

To get to the security node, raiders break open or move the storage containers in their path. Some containers are harder to break than others (wooden crates are easier than metal cases) and some are impossible to break. Containers can contain good and bad surprises. Some contains grant the raider bonuses (extra speed, extra health, cash, etc.) some causes problems (explosions, release toxic gas, start fires) which the player either needs to flee from, or tackle.

One-shot Bonuses:

Decayer Bonuses:

The game in intended to be used on the Levono All-In-One PC and Ultrabook, although it could work on the larger tablets too.

The game is a Round 3 finalist the Intel® App Innovation Contest 2013, making into the top 5 in the Games category. Link to the article here.

The game also features in Issue 128 of the TGC newsletter.

Tools
The raider animations were created from FPSC Model Pack 12 using SpriteMe.

Update

Have now added some most of the bonuses you will recieve in the game. Two types of bonus will be available:

One-Shot types:

Safe Me - Removes the trap (if a trap exists) from the selected container.

TrapEaze - Sets a trap on the selected container.

Medipak - Restores 20 health points to the player.

3-in-a-row Destroy - Destorys 3 containers in the straight line.

3-in-a-row Block - Makes 3 containers in a straight line invincible.

Decayer types:

Gas Mask - Reduces damage taken from gas traps.

Trap Sense - Detects if a trap in the containers close to the player.

Beyond Sight - Shows the players the container types beyond the current line of sight.

Super Strength - Boosts the player's strength.

I've also updated the graphics a little bit too:

Cheers MattyH, Yes - I'm entering it for the All-in-one, Gamescatergory.

I wonder how many other AppGameKit owners will be entering?

Here's a video of the game as it is now.

The menu system is now animated.

A simple A.I. has been added, but at the moment they do not use any of the bonuses they collect, neither do they correctly add to gas.

The bonuses can be used by the human players and this video shows a single player using some of the bonuses that they collect.

Another update.

A bonus trading feature has been added to the end of each round. Basically the players get 10.0s to trade bonuses since they can only carry 3 different types into the next round.

The Ai has been tweaked, but is still far from perfect.

Created a new video too, this one showing a full game round, including the newly added bonus trading and state feedback.

I've created some AIO promotional images.

This is how the main game would be played:

This is how the single player would probably look:
