I think you should still release into the ice on fpsc as is and finish it with a to be continue at the end. then start the into the ice part from there with reload.because reload will be in beta for the next few months. there is still so much Lee did not add to the engine that all of this premature develop.

more than what meets the eye

last pic - needs white fog and falling snow, turn ambient light down, ambient light only works well in levels with virtually zero light and heavy fog, otherwise dont use it.
See effect I mean in this very old shot from 7+ years back.

I don't think your suggestions are possible in FPSCReloaded just yet but great suggestions none the less.

no, much of the needed stuff to create scene-fitting atmosphere is still missing. However, here a glimpse of what is already possible:

Wow You did a great job showing us the scales possible in Reloaded! Just made me more excited than I already am to see it more optimized!

Watching how the sniper rifle plays out just made me notice that there is ZERO bullet drop. Being able to take out all the enemies from such a long ways away would prove to make the game extremely easy.

I'm not assuming this is an end game product but it did make me think about factors such as bullet drop or perhaps even rifle recoil.

I too think this would be a cool feature, but honestly, there is no bulletdrop in 90% of shooters.

@Ertlov: I see that there is still no zombiebrothel in Into the Ice. You cleeeearly lost your edge on avant-garde videogame artistry.

Yeah, you are pretty much grasping at straws when we really need much more important things. It just so happened to come to my attention when watching the video.

Ertlov,

Great demo there. I had fun just watching so don't think I will make anything - just wait for you to make some more videos

Bullet drop/ aiming/targeting holdover :

Is a bit over the top unless you are trying to make real weapon training scenarios for someone and not making games for average users and apart from the vast amount of work and technical difficulties of getting any real life accuracy where a weapon and the projectiles behaviour would be affected by a mass of influences and the resultant impact and amount of damage also affected similarly. Bullet deflection for instance if you want accuracy of real life? A simplistic attempt might be possible but much like recoil you want a game to be enjoyable not requiring a technical calculator having to enter wind, range, muzzle velocity and all other parameters and other variable and waiting for the computer to come up with a calculation so you can adjust your scope settings or aiming trajectories before pulling the trigger!!

If you want to make the game more interesting and the enemies harder to kill then - you got it - make them smart and then you have a fight and good game on your hands.

That's however just as hard or harder to do as programming the weapon trajectory, bullet drop, holdover and so on but results in a better and more enjoyable game.

I am sure Reloaded will have some weapon accuracy settings. Not quite the same thing but allowing some variation in gameplay.

Anyway on topic. Nice Work Ertlov I enjoyed that

This can still take some time, as we are grounded on the editor work right now for performance issues - testing basic gameplay ideas with 5-10 fps is not useful in any way.

The level shown is a Gorillatest for size and usage of terrain amount. Our next test will be a Gorilla Test for achievable visual quality, a small scene developed to a visual quality we consider as representing our aim for ITI.

Quite.

Yes looks like its a complete hold up for the moment. Apparently Reloaded levels to date may not be compatible with the next version. Glad I've done nothing to date much with Reloaded now though I had saved about 70 auto generated terrains I found interesting in design I could have updated manually to work with but alas looks like they will be lost.

All else I have done myself is to get some of my own tree models ready to go in.

THX for your support!

We made it into the finals and Into the Ice is only rivaled by "Slender the Arrival" now. Please vote for us in the final round, too:

Well, all those Slenderman based games are full of crap, it wouldn't be too difficult to win, but sadly all of these soulless games also have a very wide fanbase composed of retarded individuals.

So you have my vote, I have to create an accout first. ^^
