Work In Progress Thread

I decided to move my wip thread from the 3d chat board to this one, mainly because this pack is geared more towards the fpsc community. I also have the obligatory screenshot on top now . Blogging on the pack's progress will continue as per the original thread.

If you want to check out the previous thread see the events leading up to this post, here is the link:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=206901&b=3

You can see some of the work in progress stuff from before I moved the thread in the link above.

About the pack:

This is the ultimate successor to Scifi Textures 2.0 (available on my turbosquid page), and will feature much higher quality content than the former. Resolutions have been doubled, newer texturing techniques implemented, and there is much more attention to detail.

Expect around one hundred unique textures, each with variation maps to break up repetition, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, and height maps. There will probably be over 1500 total images included in the download.

Target release date(s):

I am planning on getting the content done by Q1 2014, in time with the release of FPS Creator Reloaded. This will allow me to present the pack better because of Reloaded's improved visuals.

A Few Images:

(More to look at in original thread)

Back on the saddle

Been busy preparing for moving the thread, luckily that went smoothly. I was able to squeeze in a little texture work as well, things should revert back to their original pace again, daily or semi-daily updates are resuming.

Todays stuff...

One of many floors...

More stuff for tomarrow! Stay tuned.

Hamburger these look very good, but 2 questions.

Can you show them in FPSC and also when will it be ready to buy!

Getting floor-sick...

Starting to hate doing floors ... so much to scratch up, so monotonous... hehe

Almost done with them though, just have to come up with about 6 or 8 more designs and finalize them, then we will move on to walls. That should be fun!

Here is a little sneak of some stuff I did today...

Todays stuff...

All of the info on release dates and stuff is in the top post, as well as a screenshot. But as said, I am planning on a release early next year to allow me enough time to build up lots of content

Progress so far...

Still fairly early in the game, but I guess we are around 15-16% done so far. Just doodling away with photoshop...

Phew...

Been working really hard lately, but I manages to squeeze in some more work on the side. I reworked one of my original textures today, and it turned out excellent! I think you all will love this one. Took approximately 6 hours just to do the diffuse texture, so this one was not so easy to crank out, but, oh, look what got cranked out...

Todays stuff...

You won't be disappointed

Progress so far...

Slowly chipping away at 16-17% done. My future schedule however may not allow as much time to work so things might progress slower but that does not mean that I will ever abandon this project.

Thanks and stay tuned!

Thanks so much guys!

Textures

Just plogging away as usual, music blaring in background...

Got a floor done this mornin', I may have more to show you near the end of today but we will see, otherwise we will just wait until tomarrow.

Todays stuff...

Just as a little tip I have when making textures is when you want to put any sort of numbering on an image I find that sourcing numbers from real images rather than typing them out looks better, as you can get more realistic texture in them and they have a more "painted" look. As an example, the number "65" on the above floor texture was sourced from the back of an old grain car from some rural town I was visiting, sneaking around in an old plant

Stay tuned!

I really like your textures. If you can make a segement pack out of it, that would be awesome

Make this forum to something a little bit better and release more stuff. So we can push the Request/NoobHelp threads aside.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting lately. I have been VERY busy getting ready for school and I have been doing other things as well.

I'll try and find some time when I can to work but in the meantime I will be taking a break for a while.

Thanks for all the comments!

Thank you Thraxas! You are the best my friend.

Well it has been a while, but I started working on this again this week and I got some good stuff done. I won't let this project go to waste! It will not die!

Updates...

Now that I got a blog up and running I will be doing a majority of tiny updates there (click the link in my sig to go there ) But whenever I have something major to post (should be every couple of days or so) I will post it here. The reason I am doing this is because I am trying to generate some sort of traffic for my blog.

Scifi textures 2.0 Price Reduced

I am offering Scifi Textures 2.0 at a 20% discount on my blog. This is not a limited time sale. I am just reducing the price because I am not dealing with Turbosquid's royalty rates there.

The real stuff we came for...

Here is some of the latest content!

I have some more photos of stuff in various stages of completion on my blog as well. Please visit!

Thanks for being such faithful followers guys I really appreciate it!

Cheers

Another one for the books

Finished a new one today guys, a new scifi wall:

I wrote a little about how I did some of the paint elements on my blog post if you guys are interested. Basically just little details like the numbers and the paint overspray, and how they tie into the texture and intended setting.

Thanks pain! I am really looking forward to Reloaded's release, maybe then we can finally make really good looking games. It is something I dream about and is also another reason why I make this media!

Thanks to you too ncmako. I learned a lot of my techniques from cg artists like racer445 and Philipk to name a couple. I also just kind of go with my own workflow (my gut).

Thanks guys! - I have exams for school this week so I haven't really had time to work but hopefully I will have more time after this week to squeeze some stuff in. I always put schoolwork first before any of my cg work which is why I am a little sparse on the updates at times...
