Blitz is known for many popular titles, including high profile tie-ins such as Shrek, Spongebob Squarepants and Mickey Mouse. The company was set up in 1990 by twins Philip and Andrew Oliver. The pair also worked closely, mostly during the 1980s, with games publisher Codemasters."

Glad I didn't get that job then... I only went for an interview last month!

The two guys that interviewed me seemed really nice and were really helpful. I hope that most of them get snapped up by the other game companies in the Leamington Spa area. There are quite a few around there...

Pretty sure they did, we have to plan a full years forecast in advance so they knew this was inevitable last year...

The alternative is scary...

Just wondering why they would be hiring a month before closing down.

Might have been more like two months but either way it's not unusual. They were probably hoping a particular deal would come off and it didn't. It's not unusual to take people on even when you are a struggling company. From what I've read (between the lines) a few financial "promises" were broken too.

Indeed - otherwise many companies wouldn't even get started. We all have to live in hope and have something to aim for - and that applies to company management as well.
