Hello,

I would like programming with DBP on Linux without using Wine. How can I do it? Why does not DBP exist for Linux?

I do not speak English very well, so please be patient and write without abbreviations.

Afraid not.

This question could better be posted in the 'Newcomers DBPro Corner ': http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_read&i=7

DirectX.

That's why it doesn't exist on Linux.

maybe you'd use AppGameKit legacy edition but that would be on meego platform. DBpro is made for windows platform and for me does the job very well.

It would be nice for the upcoming SteamOS though.

We're not getting bugs fixed, let alone DBPro being released on another platform.

AGK isn't even planned for release on Linux, so DBPro has no chance in hell.

Hey, does it mean that you can use DBP with Wine?!

Also, how good DBP games runs on Wine? Like wattywatts said, SteamOS is coming.

P.S. I don't have Linux right now.

DBP itself I couldn't get to run on Wine, but a compiled program from DBP did. Very slow though. (I just had to try it out) Wine runs almost all DX9 stuff.

Heck I tried it with Wine, a lot of wine (hick) and I still couldn't get it to work... Of course by that time, I didn't care.

Actually I was trying to get it (DBPro)to run on the mac because I thought I read somewhere on this forum about someone who had done it successfully.

at one time there was a partially working integration of OpenGL working on Pro as a Lib IIRC, but that was a long time ago, it may be possible, but Lee probably isn't interested in a Linux port since it would break DirectX specific commands.
