Is it possible to play a sound and make it heard in a program with an inactive window? As it is now in my program the sound is only heard if the window is active, but is still played though.

There was a fourth flag parameter added to the load sound function some time ago. Setting it to true (1) should allow sounds to be played even when your application does not have focus.
