I'm having serious problems with my FPSC before I had windows XP \ 1GB RAM \ 150GB HD work very well.
now I have a windows 8 \ 4 GB RAM when I create one map that is not too large and with few entities shows "1.85 GB virtual memory, press cancel abort build."
why when I had windows XP I consiguia create large maps with many entities and now no windows 8?

Have you updated to a newer version of FPSC ?

Windows 8 doesn't use anymore memory but there is an issues with memory usage from v1.19 and upwards.

Scene and myself are looking into this at the moment to find where the memory use is.

Hello,

I have been using FPSC on Windows 8 and I was running into the same issue you were. Then I started running FPSC as an administrator and compatibility mode to Windows Vista and it seems to use a lot less memory for some reason. Hope it helps!

I'm using Win7 64 Home and 1.19.009 as Admin.

I had that problem using the fire map from the training videos -- very good videos tyvm TGC. When I tried making my own, it was fine.

(edit - I found the debris object. So that wasn't it.)

So, 3 of 3 files I have tried to load from the video tutorials are exhibiting the problem. The files are fire, entity explode and trigger_enemy_finished.

Maybe its a file format/compatibility issue?

@s4real - should I roll back to 1.18?
