I have some of my old projects that i used to run on Java Applets on my sites.
If i wanna publish my C64 emulator for Android, is it easy?
I read Android use Java, and on Apple i can't load external old codes, so i think to publish all my old Virtual Desktops and old cpu Emulators on Android.
What do you think?

Are you trying to do something with AppGameKit or something totally not AppGameKit?

With AppGameKit obvious.
I already have the working code, some of my old projects.
I want to know, if it is easy to get Java old codes to work on Android, or is a different way of coding.
Well i know maybe the resolution or the device problems, but
if i put a Java project on Android, it work immediately or i need to work too much?

I think this whould be pretty difficult. You can not do it with AppGameKit since AppGameKit uses C++ code and not java. Regular android apps do use java but as far as I know, just the language, not the libraries so something like an applet can not be instantly converted to an android app.

Yes.

In theory you could do some tweaking of the Java files in the AppGameKit Android setups. But I don't think you can do things that affect display, sound or user input (i.e. almost everything). The AppGameKit engine pretty tightly controls all of those.

I may well be wrong, but if I were programming an emulator I'd want to get as close to the metal as possible. You need to make a virtual 6502 or 68000, and I don't think AppGameKit is ideal for doing that.

But you might use AppGameKit as a kind of display adapter.

Yes of course, but to do some buttons and other UI element without using the visual editor. I hate to use the visual, i love to create all programmatically.
This is why on Obj c i have max 10 files against the usual 100 template files.

Also my agk template have less files than the original. Just 2
I already ported it to iOS but Apple rules don t allow to publish emulators.
Well i done it when i was involved with Java and Facebook apps about 8 years ago.
But i don t like Java, is too long compared to c++.

Ah, my emulator use the original kernel and sid emulation, just like vice64.

I don't understand why you're using AppGameKit at all in this.

I don't understand how someone who wrote a C64 emulator, would need to ask this... something is fishy about this whole thread...

So i wanted to know only if was possible copy the entire Java project and get it work on Android.
That's all.
