I decided this week that I wanted to fire up my old copy of DarkBASIC Pro. The initial install of version 5.4 worked just fine, and I was able to load the program and activate it before moving on to updating to 7.62. After the update, however, the program will not start. The IDE appears to load, but I'm immediately greeted with the message:

Quote: "This application is being run in compatibility mode. Please disable this feature and restart the application."

Except I've checked, and it's not being run in compatibility mode. I even played around with different modes to see if I could trick it (Windows 7, Windows XP SP3, etc...), but I get the same message every time I load up. I've also tried installing to a non protected folder and run as admin, but no difference. Is there some trick I'm missing to getting this all set up, or is the IDE for 7+ just not compatible?

@GreenDixy - I had tried this already, but I guess I Wasn't clear on that in my post, thank you anyways.

@ basjak - I don't see Editor.exe in the directory. Is this something I need to manually backup to preserve through the update process? Also, are there any IDE alternatives? I rather like how the new IDE works.

Edit: I ended up downloading Indigo, which seems to work just fine. I haven't played with it much yet, but at first glance it seems very nice.
