Title says it all.

/rant

The OUYA is very frustrating. From no instructions on how to install the batteries, to no obvious scheme for the buttons, it has been a constant struggle for me.

I just yesterday found out it has a touch-pad, from something in the forums here!

I'd like to think I'm a smart person, but the OUYA makes me feel like a really stupid out-of-touch old guy.

Shouldn't it be:
/rant on
/rant off

Or:
<rant>
</rant>

Okay, never mind, I opened the browser on the OUYA, navigated to thegamecreators, signed in, then downloaded the player apk. Then it took another 20 minutes to figure out how to locate the download and install it. They really should have included a user manual with that thing.

I get mine tomorrow, have no idea how I'll feel about it as I've read many very mixed reviews about it (especially performance-wise). But all these nuggest of info around the AppGameKit forum will prove invaluable assuming I can dig them up again as a reference.

it's better to install Android player APK with an USB key/disk, and navigate into the key/disk and execute the APK directly.

Worked perfectly for me.

MikeMax, where does one find the USB drive in the OUYA menu. I can see that my OUYA knows I have a USB storage, but I can't find the files on it.

@Rich

to properly explore the files on a usb stick....goto the discovery page and download an application on the store I think its called filepawn.... I will edit this in a sec if that's not correct.

Anyways its much easier to install and move files around with an application that's built to do it.

edit: once installed keep hitting parent folder till you hit the root (no more parent folders) ....then you will see a folder named usbdrive

click that and your now properly surfing your usb stick.

Yes I see lots of mixed reviews about ouya but I myself see some potential in the device and enough that im dedicating my next year all towards an ouya exclusive project "AMC" (Avoiding Mass Conflict) and so far the graphic work I have done looks stunning in hd in its native resolution.

I suggest that if you are writing a game on ouya that it be in 3d or at least try to stay away from using not many sprites as this seems to be the kicker on agk v1.

v1 does seams to do ok with 3d on the ouya.(better then my blackberry stuff)
