Hi Everyone,

I have noticed that enemies have a very short field of vision in a sense that you have to be pretty close to them before they will eventually see you and begin to charge or attack. I have noticed this with pretty much all enemies including the stock FPSC enemies and model pack enemies with the #22 Gore Pack being the latest one I have been using.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi shepherd
In the "FPSC" manual look for "view cone angle".
This sets the horizontal field of view of the entity. If
you right click your character, in the properties settings
you'll find this. Increasing this value some should help you.
best

Yes its possible. There are actually quite a number of conditions you could use to increase the perception of your enemies. As ncmako mention view cone angle is one and you can modify it from the editor itself without going into scripting.

Hey Guys,

Thank you so much for the information. Apologizes for the huge delay getting back to you, unfortunately I have been really busy as of late.

I shall try out what you guys suggest and see how I get on.

Thanks and best regards

No problem also there is a player distance command as well that you could script in. That's what I generally use. Basically if player is in view and if player is at certain distance... then engage player.

Hi Teabone,

Thank you for pointing out the player distance command. Is that script in the FPSC by default or is it a script that I would have to import into it?

Thank you and best regards

Its in some of the scripts by default.

Here is the command you can add to any script. Though remember when editing a script you sound always keep a back up of the original.

:plrdistwithin=300

This condition will tell the enemy to do something if the player is within 300 units. I find that any unit below 90 or so is very close to the enemy, pretty much in touching range.

Hi Teabone,

Thank you so much for that. I believe the scripts can be changed through opening them using Notepad. Would that be correct?

Thank you and best regards
Shephard
