The light source is from one direction. Is there any way to equally illuminate the enviornment?

You could always make 5 more directional lights and have them look at (0, 0, 0) from the positive and negative axises.
Doing that will essentially make everything look unlit so you might just as well turn off the default light (0) and crank up the ambient lighting though.

Just tell it to HIDE LIGHT 0 and then use SET AMBIENT LIGHT for your overall light level.

LIGHT 0 is created by default and must be hidden - I don't think it can be deleted.
