Hi all,
I have just started playing with AppGameKit again after a long absence.

I find that when I try to broadcast my app to my phone and tablet the IDE says that the broadcast is completed, however nothing happens on my devices. they sit there in standby mode.

I have the AppGameKit 10819 installed from TGC store, I have the AppGameKit player installed from TGC store AGK_Player_Ouya_19.apk

I have installed the windows 8.1 patch.
I am (obviously) running windows 8.1
I am using tier 1

My phone is a samsung Galaxy s3
my tablet is a samsung note 10.1 2014 edition.

I had the AGK2Alpha1 installed, I reinstalled AGK1 10819 to a new folder. on the first compile and broadcast my firewall asked me to ok the process, I ok'd it.

There is still no broadcast to my devices.

I am not really network savvey.

does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this broadcasting working?

cheers

here at home i have this connection.
tablet>agk player>wlan>router<firewall<lan<ide<pc

maybe disable firewall at pc and see what happens.
maybe restart the router.

try agk player from google play.

If that doesn't work then I'd try the online APK builder. Not quite as fast, but faster if you're having issues with broadcast.

OK I have disabled my firewall and I can now broadcast to my tablet (but not my phone for some reason)

however, I find that a 3d model that I am using in my project is not showing up when i broadcast.

the ground plane(with texture) works, the skysphere works, but my tree model is missing.

has anyone else had this happen?

Android (Samsungs use Android) is case sensitive. Make sure that you are using exactly the same name casewise in your code as for the file. 'File.txt' and 'file.txt' are two different files in Android systems.

Also, you mention in the original post that you downloaded the Ouya player. I sort of assume that you haven't installed that on either of your Samsungs. But if you did, it probably won't work quite right.

ok, update.

Turns out I had a special moment and thought that my project file was in my documents when it was actually in my agk folder.

all files work correctly now.

It still wont broadcast to my phone, but at least the tablet is working.

cheers.

Are you sure that your phone is on the same network?

I'm having the same problem.

I had a combination of AppGameKit and Player that worked yesterday.

I upgraded to 108.21 and Player build 108.20.

The tablet sits at Standby and the phone says Network Active, but doesn't receive anything.

[edit]
Disconnecting from WiFi and reconnecting seems to have cleared it up. Perhaps the player isn't shutting down it's network connection properly on exit. Not sure. At least it's working.

same here, I am not sure the exact fix I used, but when I came back and broadcasted yesterday the phone now connects too.

So I guess the best thing was to turn the firewall off and on, restart your modem, phones and computer a few times until all the crankiness is gone.

One of the things that sometimes helps is simply making sure that the Player actually stops completely. If you go into Settings->Applications and find the Player, you can touch it and then use the 'Force Stop' button to completely stop it and remove it from memory. And, clearing the memory/cache doesn't hurt either. It removes any files left over from previous broadcasts (Player doesn't clean up after running something).

Ancient Lady, I suspected something like that when turning the WiFi off and back on cleared it up for me. I think the player doesn't recover well if it's still in memory, WiFi is on, and the device goes to sleep.
