The help file sais this:

In order to use your own custom cursor, you must first fill the cursor media with an arrow in the first slot and an hourglass in the second slot to maintain basic application requirements.

Have you taken that into account? Otherwise, I don't know what could cause the problem, as I haven't used the command before and use hide mouse in combination with a sprite cursor instead.

You have to include the cursor files in the DBPro project using your IDE, not just load them with code. I use CodeSurge and I have a panel that looks like this:

Your IDE may vary.

Try HIDE MOUSE to make it invisible. You can also hide the mouse, and paste one of your own images at the mouse's x and y screen positions each sync update.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

That can be a good alternative, but that means the mouse will be restricted to rendering at the game's frame rate, which can be noticeably annoying for games that require precise clicking. If you use the cursor commands, you get the benefits of a hardware cursor and it will actually move and draw at your monitor's refresh rate all the time.
