Dark GDK / sprites and 2D z offset

I am wondering how do i manipulate Z priority for both sprites and 2D images like boxes.

What i want is my background sprite at the back of my 2D box, and my player sprite in front of my 2D box, any one knows how can I do this?

You can't do that I believe.
The obvious solution is to make your box a sprite as well. Sprite priority can be set by dbSpritePriority(int spriteID, int priority).
