Not sure where to post this. I might be interested in joining a well organized group on a DBP project.

I think the rule is you have to have some sort of alpha development at least before you can begin a group project.

(In other words, you have to show some kind of working code to prove that you're not just an idea hack.)

What is alpha development? I don't want to begin a group project, I want to join one. But not a group that is worried that I might steal ideas. DBP is a lot of fun, but lets not get crazy here. C++ and C# is where the real world is. That's like saying I might steal someone's LEGO layout. People that share intelligence become very ideologically developed, but people that are paranoid and selfish with their ideas, are usually mistaken about how wonderful, unique, and valuable their ideas are, while being blind to other people's contributions, and aren't very good for personal development, individually or in a team. These big companies that won't reveal their tradecraft suffer greatly for it. Companies that realize open tradecraft leads to rapid development and marketing are the winners.

Then maybe you should provide a small overview of your qualifications. E.g. whether you're good at programming, game design, writing, modelling, pixel graphics, composing etc.
Judging from your few threads here (all except 2 of them dating back to 2011), it's really hard to tell what you do, and what it is you're looking for in a group project.

Hotline Miami was developed in Game Maker...
While it's certainly true that very, very few successful DBP games are existing, I'd say that's due to other reasons than the language itself.
Also, a good idea is a good idea, no matter if you're working on it with DBP or C++.

Good or bad compared to what? I don't know anyone that shares my DBP interest to compare myself to. How would I showcase and/or prove that I am a good programmer, etc? I'm board, and DBP is a hobby to me. I've tried to sell programs offline and online, and realized very quickly there isn't a market for that. I'm more interested in programming than the rest of it. I don't have an imagination for games or characters, I always hire people from ODesk or Elance for that, or just ask a 12 year old at Walmart that has wondered too far from their parents. I then turn the game into code. I model and animate with 3DS Max or use Mixamo (which is NOT friendly with 3DS Max), but haven't figured out how to make good textures yet. Tried Mudbox, it's Okay. If I was on a team, it would be for programming, not writing or modeling, etc. I've made some very handsome sprites using MS Paint and Adobe CS4, of course I had to get good at that. I'm at a point now that I don't have to think about program composition or algorithms anymore. Whatever I want to make in DBP, I can conceptualize from past experience, copy bits from my own code-library, tweak, and implement very quickly. Anyone can have my LEGOs, I'm done playing with them. Being able to type 60 wpm is a big help to. I got interested in game design after working for DoD Computer Science, Virtual Ops, helping to build virtual training combat *stuff*.

I could def use some help for a silly little project I'm working on.. short video and description here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=209910&b=51

Either way, I'd also like to join a group project in an artist/animator/sound/musician role. So that's out there too.

Thanks. If you'd like to program that would be great, and I can concentrate on the art. We could collaborate on the game play too if you like.
PM me your email and I'll send the files your way.

I'll look it over and let you know. We might be a good team, because i'm not great at the art side of things.

I actually like how this post has the opposite engagement that is people looking to join into a group on a project....not start one.

that's pretty cool.

most of the time its the exact opposite and people start going crazy flaming the guy that started the thread.
