So our game was working, then we added some code and whenever we run it it says it failed to find exe, could not create exe. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? the code we added can be removed and it still does not work, how do I fix this?

Maybe it's not your code, but rather the compiler.

Have you tried to create an .EXE from another test program?

Did you close the old exe before compiling a new one?

IS that a game, a program, or 3 year old drawing.

That sounds like a familiar editor/compiler bug.

Save the code and project. Then check the project folder and delete any odd files with extensions like .pcx (I forget the exact ones that cause the problem - but don't delete .dba or .dbpro files). Then open the project and try again.

There's a related problem where if you compile, then make a change, and compile and run immediately you get errors like this. It's something to do with files or processes not being terminated behind the scenes before you ask the editor/compiler to do the next task. I have no idea why these things happen - but with the latest upgrades they happen much less frequently. Which update are you using? I use U77RC7 which seems fairly stable.

turns out it was a piece of code that we needed to take out of the do loop. 5 lines of code near the bottom of a do loop caused it.

If it's not too secret, might I inquire on what the line of code was? Might be helpful to know what can cause this.

It seems like a very strange error for a coding issue. As Green Gandalph said above, I have also had a similar issue in the past regarding temp files that needed to be removed. Another possibility is that DBP wasn't running in administrative mode and/or was trying to place and compile files into your program files or other protected directory? Just an odd error.

Yes, I'd like to know too. A simple coding mistake shouldn't cause this kind of error.

If it is an editor bug, try these steps:

1. Check the program didn't get hung up in memory (look in task manager).
2. Delete the compiled exe from the project folder.
3. Restart the IDE.
4. Reboot
