I want to make a trailer for RTA.

I've tried Fraps. Is there any other capturing software to consider or should I just buy it?

Any suggestion on editing software?

I use screen-cast-o-matic.

It's pretty good for free. Sony Vegas is an awesome editing studio for the money.

Thanks for all the tips, I'll take a look at them

I've heard that Sony Vegas is popular among Youtubers.

I love Fraps and think it was well worth the money. It's especially nice that you can lock frame rate or set it to what you need. Also it is super simple and doesn't seem to slow my programs down on my machine. I use that in combination with Blender to edit the videos and then I use Handbrake to smush it into an MP4. Both are free. Fraps is not too expensive to remove that watermark.
