Always happens.

I buy a PS2 for £299. Two weeks later it dropped to £199, now its about £169 with load of free stuff chucked in.

I buy latest pentium laptop for £1300. Two months later it is out of date and reduced to £999

I bought Painshop pro 7 for £90. Next day it was half price in PC World. Some time later when I wanted V8, I just waited a bit and lo and behold PC World sell it for half price. That's when I got my cash out!

Just got to put up with it I'm afraid.

Get this for a statistic...

The Price of processing power has halved every 3 years since 1963.

So, if you have a £1,000 PC on your desk that you bought today...
24 years ago you would have to pay quarter of a million hard earned English Pounds for the same capability.
On the other side of the coin, in 24 years time you will be able to afford what would cost £1/4 million today!!!
Or, your £1,000 PC will be worth just over £3.50. Potentially, your PC will be available in a digital watch from Esso, free with £30 worth of Petrol.

Alot of company's will honor a discount on your item if you purchased it shortly after a sale price was posted. However, alot of companies don't. Meh, it's a peanut discount anyways. This product is dirt cheap as it is right now. It's not like paying $1,500 for a visualstudio.net license and having it go on sale for $1,300 a week later.

some of us have done that before...
i spend $6,999 on getting Maya 4.5 Unlimited - the next week they wanted to compete with the new release of 3D Studio Max 5 and reduced it to $3,950

ya know when companies are about to slash prices so big i wish thier sales reps would say something, cause these things don't just happen out of the blue. Happens everywhere though, quite annoying.
Why i try to buy alot of stuff from Amazon.com/co.uk cause they hardly ever slash prices ^_^ though there was that time last year with the GBA mwhahaa, and they had to honour those purchases to hahaa

You are aware that the JASC programmers are all ex-pirate and are quite happy to give you the source code to compile yourself aren't you? Infact, JASC stand out from all companies as the one that literally tries it's damnedest to 'GIVE' you the program only for some people to insist on registering. BatVink, I'm pretty sure the statistic is 18 months, not 3 years . Also, those estimates aren't really accurate... prices for computers will vary depending on the value of computers in general; also, 18 months isn't exact, it's often earlier, and newer processers go up and down in how easy they are to manufacture. Oh, and a 24-year-old computer is a valuble antique that you might be able to sell for half the price you bought it for when it was new .
