Hi again, I am using all my available time to coding and I have not time to make a decent human with animations..

I am searching for a free human model with already made animations like walk, run etc.. do you know where I can find it?

Thank you.

Modeled, UV mapped, textured and rigged? Not likely to find anything for free.

Find some time and make it then, if you really think it's so easy. Making something like this will require some expensive tools and extensive experience.

New sig coming soon..

Check out the Autodesk Character Generator. It's free to use and quite capable. It doesn't come with animations, but it uses the HumanIK skeleton and it should be easy enough to find them. (I am just now starting to look myself, and will come back with any links I find.)

Thank you guys.

DEastham, I watching Autodesk Character Generator.. seems to be pretty cool but I don't know exactly what is HumanIK skeleton.. I think it's something like Character Shop?
And what is the export options?
Are we sure this tool is DBPro compatible about animations made using HumanIK?

Why don't you just get one of the model packs from TGC? There are are several packs each containing several characters. You can't beat the price anywhere that I've seen. (Disclaimer: I do not work for TGC)

If you just want a stand-in model for now, DBPro comes with a female animated character called Miko.
She walks, run, shoots, punches and even blows a kiss!

On my computer the path is "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\Dark Basic Professional\Media\Models\Miko"

Hi Derek, for now I am just using the character from DBPro room demo! I just edited the textures to get a normal human instead a Sci-fi human.

Good to know there is a female character! I need it too! In what demo I can find her?

In my version of DBPro it's Example #1401: Camera Showcase in the help section, but I don't think they used her animations in the example. Just load her up and use PLAY OBJECT n to see all of her animation cycles.

This is a demo from enhanced animation. I have not the code. The texture is a dds "ai_D2.dds that you will find in media folder. Here is the same image in JPG.

Thank you mate!
A last info : I tryed to cycle the animations of the cyborg and I can't get same animations of the demo!

I used play object x,50 and I get my cyborg strangely changing his XYZ position but no animations!

Where I am wrong?

EDIT : I am preparing a youtube video to show you exactly

I remember now, that enhanced animation works with animation .anim let say with its own format ...run.anim walk.anim and so on.

Here's another animation that is ready to use.

Those objects are found here in the forum, and you can find many others ready to play all around internet.

The program I use to rig my models, is Blender (The best !!). Perhaps there was a time when trying blender was a bit tedius, but from version 2.5 ahead, it has a friendly interface and has the same power as many 3D program that are terribly expensive. Blender is free. and export in lots of diferent formats. I'm a Blender lover

Blender 2.49 can import .x and many others. Why do you want to import object into Blender or Deled ? . If we need a reference into Deled of any 3D mesh, we could into Darbasic Proffesional, conver object to mesh and save mesh , then you can load this mesh into Deled.

Once you have loaded the object into Blender 2.49, you can save it as .blend, and open in 2.69

The same file converted first to .blend into Blender 2.49 and loaded into Blender 2.69

What we have to do of course, is to rig the model again, but we need to have some experience with Blender (two days)

Ahhh your advices are damn good! I am a bit sad 'cause I am very far from your knowledge about 3D tools & formats world! :\

So I need to understand exactly what you mean :

Quote: "Blender 2.49 can import .x and many others. Why do you want to import object into Blender or Deled ? . If we need a reference into Deled of any 3D mesh, we could into Darbasic Proffesional, conver object to mesh and save mesh , then you can load this mesh into Deled."

Mmmm Ok just I making the basic way.. directly import the X object into deled to let me to edit and modify the shape of this object!

So you telling me to convert the X object to a shape.. using DarkBasic Pro... emmm how I can do it?
And what is the advantage to import a mesh instead a X object?

(I installed Blender 2.69)

Sorry for my english and for my knowledge of 3D matter english words..
What you mean with "is to rig the model again"?
Are you speaking about animations frames?

Yeah you can do that with some .x files. Surely you have noticed that you can not open all .x format files. That is because .x is not a standar format and it differs ones from each others. Dbpro can save .x when we convert the object to mesh. There are some 3D converters, that can correct some internal faults into the .x like Deep Exploration.

Quote: "What you mean with "is to rig the model again"?"

When we rig an object, let say a human , we add bones to it, two legs ,two arms and forearms a head, and so on. When we open some .x files into Blender, we loose all keyframes and the object will be static. Some times, when we import differents formats, we have to rig again the object in the case that is a non soported format.

There are lots of program out there that can help us to animate our objects. We could even do it in Dbpro, and save our own format, but that is hard and the wheel was invented long long ago.

Cheers.

Ah okok I am understanding now.
In fact half of my X objects can be imported in Deled while other half of my X objects not. Sure DBPro can open all X objects!

About the RIG operations, ok, perfect, the famous skeleton with all animation frames like character shop skeleton.
So when you import to Blender, you lost all these skeleton keys.. not a good thing :\
(is Blender providing tools to make a new skeleton keys?)

By the way, what do you think about character shop? Seems it's very easy to use to RIG your human shapes! are you agree?

Yes it is, and if you know the first steps with blender, you will see that is easy. I have never use Charater Shop, but I imaging that will work like all 3D programs, where we make bones and then asign the skeleton to the mesh. The most difficult task, is animate correctly the walking cycle, running, jumping etc...

Cheers.

Yes character shop let you to assign the bones to the mesh
vertices but you can't make your own animations frames!
just character shop provide a lot of ready to use animations.

Really thank you chafari for help, now I need to
discover some good tutorial for Blender!
