FPSC Classic Product Chat / efxMod and LRMod, what happened to them?

Those looked like some awesome mods for FPSC but I'm not sure what happened to them, there was even another mod like those(I'm not going to say the name), but I think there was a scandal here about piracy, and that's sad, it was looking great, but anyway.

I wanted to know if there's any mod like those, with dynamic shadows, bloom, depth on field, etc or if it's even possible to reach those effects without mods... (I don't even care to use older versions of FPSC like V1.16 - V1.18).

I've found the site of efxMod however, but the last time it was updated was in 2009 and I'm not even sure if I can actually use it.

I hope someone can help, I would be happy just with dynamic shadows in my game. =P

They are dead.

efxmod only support 1.15. But 1.2 is a lot better. efx isn´t stable and not have dynamic lights.

LRMod is in early alpha still and not for download. TZK done another version named corvus mod. But it also have a lot of bugs!!

I'm not even sure if my version of CorVus mod even works properly. I was still very new to DarkBASIC when I made it.

CorVus mod was originally made by DarkGoblin. The one which was "involved in piracy" that you mentioned was Xara Mod, now known as Xploid Mod. From when I last spoke to its creator, the mod has pretty much died as the code has been lost.

I was going to redo CorVus mod yet again, but Reloaded has basically all you would need so I decided against it as there was no real point.

If someone was to contact DarkGoblin then they MIGHT be able to get the sources for EFX Mod, and then someone could update it to the latest version of FPSC, but I doubt it would happen.

As for LR Mod, I believe it was stopped due to performance issues that proved to be a large pain to solve. I'm pretty sure DG started working on an improved version, but there hasn't been any news on it for a while.

Well, that's a shame, I'm not going to get FPSC:R so soon (I'm unemployed at the moment ).
But anyway, thanks a lot for the answers guys, it was very informative, that's why I love this forum.

I'll take a look at that CorVus mod.

Xploid Mod is Xara mod the name was changed and is still being worked on but this version not released.


As for the mods these where more like demo mod to show what could be done.

None where like usable for your games.
