Has anyone received this error? I get it when trying to play an MP3 file using PlayMusic().

I have tested the files with Windows Media Player and they work fine
I've also installed the K-Lite Codec pack but it hasn't resolved the issue.

seems your mp3 needs a extra dll for decode.
maybe convert to a normal .mp3 or .ogg file.

That's a DirectShow error.

KLite can cause problems with mp3. Disable the KLite audio/mp3 filter in the list.

@Jim thanks for the info, I'll make sure k-lite codecs/players aren't interfering as I progress. In the first instance I didn't have it installed so it isn't the root cause.

@markus, I created the file in audacity so I would hope it's OK. They worked OK when I last ran this a couple of months ago. 6 files have the same problem.

I'm not sure if the problem is Windows 8 (fresh install), the hardware or the latest build of AppGameKit V1, unfortunately all 3 are new to the environment. I'll try next on a different machine.

Good point. I can't check at the moment but if anyone wants to see if they can spot anything then one of the offending files is here.

[EDIT] It's 256kbps, but that should be ok?

Loads perfectly fine for me in my app. I use Audacity frequently for MP3 and WAV so the FFMPEG for Audacity shouldn't be the problem and AppGameKit 10819 doesn't have a problem with it and Windows 7 64-bit is OK with it.
Does it also give you this error if you broadcast to Android?
Just for S&G maybe try saving it again and see if it works. I've had a few PNG and JPG files have issues that were resolved by resaving them (which really made no sense).

It also failed on a Windows 7 PC, and I updated my DirectX with no success.

It must be the last update of AppGameKit V1 that did it (Naphier are you on 1.08.21?) . I'll reduce the bitrate when I get a few minutes to spare and see if that's the issue. I'll also recompile on 1.08.18.

DirectX does NOT install DirectShow filters.

Get GraphEdit from the DirectX SDK and try an mp3 file. It will tell you which filters are loading.
