Modified 12.2.11 1.91mb
The weirdest thing is happening..
All of a sudden all instances of viewitem.wav have had the audio file
change from the Ping sound to a woman screaming!
In addition all TEST and Buily games have the same screaming sound

I have Moved all audio files to another drive except the few basic ones to build or test a stock game,, I also moved the fpm fpm files other than Mygames and Test. I set the loading.fpi and setup and title fpi files to NO sound and then a Ping.wav and it made no difference, the screaming still was there, Something is changing any file set in a setup or loading fpi file to be overwritten with the screaming but it does not change the file name just the actual sound file.. OGG or WAV it changes both and will make a ogg file if I delete it in the built game and in the fpsc autobank directory.

Running virus scanners as we speak. but Hope and Pray someone else has had this issue and knows what is causing it..

thanks

Not having that issue at all not sure what going on with your fpsc.

Plus I'm not sure what version you using as there not a version with that number.

the latest is V1.20.19_beta_v1.17 and none are 1.91mb in size not sure where you got your mod version from.

Best of luck s4real

I had a similar thing happening to me: all shot sounds, be it pistol, MG or rifle simply triggered the same pistol shot sound.

I was using FPSC German version at that time as a base version which I had upgraded several times in the course of time.

Finally, I had to take resort to re-installing FPSC, because regardless of old or newly created levels, I wasn't able to get the proper sounds back.

I can't tell from your explanation of what you've tried so I have to ask...

Have you tried playing the sound files with something other than FPSC and if so do they play properly? It sounds more like the program is corrupt and not the sound files. Either that or have you recently watched a really strange VHS tape and at the end someone calls and says you will die in 7 days?

Brian.

I was about to say this is sounding very "Creepy Pasta".
A version that's not available.
A sound changeing to a woman screaming.
Now we just need the level to be a filmgrain outdoor well with a hand crawling out of it. LOL

It took a Day and a half of looking and many virus scans, and all is well again,,

xplosys::Yes I opened audacity and ran the sound files and they screamed!

It turned out to be a infected email that I clicked on accidentally with a left click that opened it and not the right click to send it to the junk bin. Funny as I had just the previous day asked Thunderbird how to prevent that.

yrkoon::: Just a suggestion here but I have a separate 1TB drive that I copy everything to. All programs i use with Fpsc and now Reloaded are all installed to a sub of the Gamecreators directory, so I just click to select and copy to the other drive and I have everything backed up. 5 times..

Disturbing 13:: That "Creepy Pasta" would be a game!

s4real::: I have no idea as version, or Build, no one signs their work. All I know is I had to finish Sono Mines Mission One and I used that flavor of FPSC to construct it with. It is now put to bed and it's on to either Mission 2 or another idea I have.

Yes, your concept is step in the right direction. I did a like thing by 7z-ipping the freshly installed FPSC and also 7z-zipping FPSC again with update supplied (without using the base installation).

Unfortunately, I can't help feeling that installing an update may or may not alter registry entries for FPSC, thus, we may still end up with a confused FPSC after a file-only-based restore in some cases.
The best way may be to have a vmware based clean install of XP, DX9, FPSC, copy the "cold" container as your virtual work machine and only work inside there. Messing up only will entail copying the clean base container as your new work container.
