@Clonkex: Okay, I confess, my sig did have "memebers" written in it and I matrix-hacked my sig. That silent stare of truth of yours, it's too much, even for el Kapitan! Btw, for the sake of those who don't know: Pics or it didn't happen (minor language or references 13L).

@Matty H: Laws that nASA disapproves of do not exist, officially (unofficially we're cleaning up the net and RL to remove all traces).

@MrV: We thank you for your application but El Kapitan (the pres) needs no protection due to the fact that his true body is in another reality (that and I have omni-slash, remember). We have propaganda positions open if you know hypnosis or cheerleader positions if you know some moves.

@baxslash: Well, there is this failed photo. I dunno where the little whelp came from but he dashed past as we took the picture.

@Indicium: That's the spirit! We'll beat nASA next year... wait, I am nASA. Oh, uh, scurvy dog I shall have ye walk the plank.

Well, time for my inauguration speech then.

Speech:
Um, yay! I'm one step closer to world domination.

Presidential Pledge (VP is required to sign this too):
I, the number formerly known as zero, nonZero, given the human name of Jason, do hereby pledge to not take one step over the proverbial "line" that divides AUP-standard and non-AUP-standard by any means, explicit or implicit, for the duration of my ownership of the badge of Forum President, should I have said badge bestowed upon myself, and I shall also abide by any additional conditions set forth for myself through a public or private message conveyed to myself through official forum channels within seventy-two hours of recieving the afforementioned badge.
Furthermore, if so required by the administrative staff of TGC:
I shall commit myself to the prevention and mitigation of disputes within the forum to the best of my abilities as a community representative.
I shall, from the moment of the aforementioned badge being issued, cease all all forms of "nASA" political activity other than acknowledgement of the existence of the entity "nASA" and its original three members. I shall not resume, or knowingly permit the resuming of, any such activity until the 10th of June 2015.
I shall refrain from placing suggestive quotations in my signature (for example, ones regarding hands being in a poor state due to stroking).
I shall act as an advisor to my colleague, Dark Java Dude 64, with regard to his forum conduct in the event he should make a post the wittingly or unwittingly may be suggestive or offensive.

I shall throw in my two cents... Well, this is more like my two hundred cents as it's a (copied) vice presidential inauguration.

Vice Presidential Pledge:

I, Dark Java Dude 64, given the human name of Jeffrey, do hereby pledge to not take one step over the proverbial "line" that divides AUP-standard and non-AUP-standard by any means, explicit or implicit, for the duration of my ownership of the badge of Forum Vice President, should I have said badge bestowed upon myself, and I shall also abide by any additional conditions set forth for myself through a public or private message conveyed to myself through official forum channels within seventy-two hours of receiving the aforementioned badge of vice presidency.
I shall do whatever is possible within my own ability and with the approval of the president to make a positive improvement upon the forum, including but not limited to, increased forum activity, productivity, and general awesomeness improvement of the forum environment.
I shall act as an assistant to my upper colleague, nonZero, with regard to any decision he may make regarding his presidency on these forums.

Furthermore, if so is required by the administrative staff of TGC:
I shall commit myself to the prevention and mitigation of disputes within the forum to the best of my abilities as a community representative.
I shall, from the moment of the aforementioned badge being issued, cease all all forms of "nASA" political activity other than acknowledgement of the existence of the entity "nASA" and its original three members. Regarding nASA, I think that it may make people feel uneasy if nASA continues to be promoted (even though I started it in jest as an homage to Haruhi's SOS brigade -- see The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi anime/manga/light novel). It may seem as if some kind of nASA-based clique or sub-community existed to some users, perhaps. While it doesn't bother me, the thought of cliques in this community, I'm just taking a guess that others may not share my view (people are funny critters that way).
As for suggestive quotations, it's something that everyone allows but it's probably not befitting a community representative (like getting drunk and passing out in the gutter would be fine for an everyday person but not the King of England). Remember TGC is not selling just a product but a community, too ("so where are my freaking royalties?" he wondered before resuming his post). As such, they are going OTT on their image. It may seem silly but it's their affair and their forum. There's a very hard choice to be made when marketing a product, especially regarding target demographic if the product doesn't define it or, in the case of multiple products, the product-range covers multiple demographics. Quite boldly, TGC are going for broke with everyone. Good for them! But the price is conformity to common society's way of thinking. I could argue that the amount of violence in an FPSC project is way worse than a suggestive remark in a sig. I could argue that only someone mature enough will understand a suggestive remark in a sig. Neither of those arguments matter in the face of "the way things are". People are not logical. I won't go any further than to say society is built upon perception but it is necessary (not this particular society so much as the construct that is a society) for coherence. If anyone's that interested in the topic, I'm happy to continue to discuss it anywhere away from the scrutiny of the public eye.
The long and short is that, much like TGC are bound to being upright in the eyes of their consumers (whether or not they believe their consumers' perspectives are right or wrong), so I am bound to similar standards by accepting this role.

But don't worry, I'm not gonna stop making stuff interesting, I'm just going to be a little more mindful of the responsibility I carry as badge-bearer

I'm honestly beginning to think that too... There have been posts waiting approval in the posting comp for like 20 hours now...

I have PMed some mods, but the system indicates they have not seen their messages.

TheNext should be back by now (AFAIK) but there has been no activity from him...

There hasn't even been a June newsletter, has there?

Yeah, I think they actually are gone. :/ Perhaps some sort of server bug has locked all of the mods out???

Somebody, quick, break the AUP really badly!!! Quick and easy test to see if they are here or not.

Perhaps they're all hanging out in the mod lounge, laughing at us.

Or, just maybe, somehow your winning the election created an alternate reality in which the TGC servers have no moderators, and we have no known way of getting back our proper reality.

Hmm, quite a curious case indeed!

But in all seriousness, it is rather disconcerting that no mod has posted for several days in a row... at least to Geek Culture!

EDIT:

I just realized, could it be because of the World Cup?!

Well, actually, I know what's going on, but I am supposed not to tell you or any non presidential member. An agreement was made between nASA and the mod squad, and... And now they don't post here anymore.

Now, I have to have you and anyone else who reads this message killed.

Maybe they believe you two are not fit as role models. nonZero you said some very strange things since i have been here and maybe they don't know that they can trust you. Maybe. Maybe they are just going to ignore it until people get bored with this thread and it is forgotten. They can just delete this thread if you carry on and if you start emailing them and messaging them, they will block or ban you. I don't mean to be nasty but i think you guys should maybe just leave it. If you keep on and they keep ignoring you you will just look stupid in the end, not them. I was voted class rep for the second term once in school but the teacher decided i had been absent too often the last term and just decided to make the class rep the girl from the previous term. I was upset and my parents even complained. The school didn't care and in the end nothing happened and i just got laughed at by the other kids. If i had been clever i would have said i was so glad i got out of having to be class rep because i was lazy but instead i made a fool of myself (and my parents made it alot worse) for nothing. Sorry, i probably shouldn't say that because i haven't been here long and i kept quiet alot of times i wanted to say something in many threads but i just have to say this, even if i step on everyone's toes.

@TheComet: Our Authentic Space Station was stolen by an alien race. Please, Mr Comet, save our A.S.S.

@Wasp:
I think you just jumped up and down on my toes, never mind stepping on them. I made the mistake of getting into an argument only once since my return and I intend to keep it that way. TGC would never do that. They're usually quite fair and open to communication. Threads don't often get deleted, they get locked.
So far as the badges are concerned, I don't think I've once demanded them. I left some messages with a few mods today and I am sure I will get a response. Most of the "carrying on" in this thread was light-hearted. Nobody demanded anything and most of the conversation has been off-topic in any event. The only thing I want is to know what is going on, that's it.
Don't take this the wrong way, but, as a newcomer, you don't know how things here work. This is not a high-volume site with loads of staff, so delays on many things happen. Remember a mod on his/her own cannot (despite probably having the authority to) just sign over the badges, they need the "go ahead" from a few others or the bosses. I hope I'm not sounding confrontational since I really don't mean to. I just feel your comment was a little unnecessary and it's likely the result of not speaking your mind in other threads. Even if you're new, your opinion is welcomed so long as you know what you're talking about. Anyway, there are no hard feelings and I'm sure you didn't mean it to sound as acerbic as it came across. Oooh wowzers this one is a duzy. nonZero has said some strange things yes, but not the type of things that would make him untrustworthy. I have said some stranger things, for the record.

As for ignoring this thread until people forget about it, that's not how TGC works. A mod said to me a few weeks back; all badges are chosen at moderator discretion, except for president and vice president badges, which are chosen by popular vote.
