Trust me I have searched, but I can't find the result (perhaps a better search option is one for the new forum design...!)

Anyway,

I have some images that I've pasted onto my screen, I've also pasted some sprites, some of which need to go BEHIND the pasted images.

I realise that SET SPRITE PRIORITY will be in similar fashion to Z-Order, but I can't seem to set it for actual pasted images. I did try -1, but I end up with nothing...!

Any ideas on how to achieve what I'm after.

The only think I can suggest is paste your images after sprites...


Mirrors are more fun than television. Well, that was fun, in a not-so-fun sort of way...

Well I thought of that, but no joy.

I did try the DRAW SPRITES FIRST command (obvious choice), but of course my user-controlled sprite then goes behind the background!

I don't really want to convert my background to one all mighty sprite, but I can't see any other way at the mo.

It sounds to me like you have no choice but to paste the images in the correct order to start with.

Sprites are overlayed ontop of everything like a transparent sheet. To position sprites behind something you must make that something a sprite also and then use the sprite priority command.

Failing that use a parallax background and make your sprites into images.


God created the world in 7 days, but we're still waiting for the patch.
