Apple are not the only company who make smart phones. Small phones that are simply phones are not good enough for my needs. So they're not convenient at all.
Your hate is simply Apple hate for the sake of hating Apple. As the complaint about screen size wasn't aimed at the iPhone it was aimed at Android phones.
As smart phones are sold as
phones then the complaint about size is valid.

Your analogy makes no sense. He's not complaining that the phone doesn't do what a phone should do, he complaining about the size. So he ordered a burger, got a burger, it's just too big to fit in his mouth. He's now spilt sauce all over his shirt and the back of the burger is hanging out the bun. He's got an interview in 5 mins and he looks like a fool, he really needs this job because he's been out of work for 6 months. He needs to make rent, buy food, pay off other miscellaneous bills. His girlfriend is thinking of leaving him for Mr Handy because he has ice cream. He should have just bought a smaller burger :-(
