Hi.

I'm testing AppGameKit v2 (tier 1) with a joystick and I can't get the directional pad to work. I can get all the buttons and the analog sticks to work but not the d-pad. Has anyone got it working?

I'm using a PS3 controller clone if that matters.

The d-pad doesn't work on 360 controllers either. Also get weird results from the triggers. I have been bugging Paul about it, but not until the 3D stuff is complete.

I hope we don't have to wait that long. It's a pretty fundamental feature and is like supporting mobiles but not touch screens.

I also noticed the weird behavior of the triggers but I forgot to mention it. I hope they fix it soon since all the game ideas I get at the moment are screaming for a game controller.

Currently we use DirectInput on Windows which has some support for XBox controllers, Microsoft have deliberately said they will only be fully supported by XInput. But they have also said that XInput will not support legacy devices, so maybe there is some way to get them working side by side.

As I've said before, it's the most popular controller on PC. A lot of games support the 360 controller out of the box, including controller icons etc. So it's weird for a PC game to not work with it.

My controller also works out of the box with other pc games even though it's not a 360 controller so it's a bit weird that it wont work 100% with AGK.

Does the d-pad work on the Ouya? Do you use the getRawJoystick commands or are there some Ouya specific commands that you use?

They report key codes for keyboard arrow keys and works fine. The triggers also works as expected on Ouya. And the same goes when using a 360 controller on Ouya.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess it's just on windows that the controller don't work properly.

Just to toss this related info in there for anyone wondering:
I have tested the Xbox 360 controller on Mac and everything works perfectly in Alpha 5 (could not get any response before.)
