Hi everyone!,

I've recently finished creating a social network site for gamers. It's very new so there isn't much activity on there at the moment but we are promoting it as much as we can and we believe we can make it a great community for gamers.

Features of the site:

* latest gaming news
* Videos and images from our very own team of gamers.
* Game reviews
* Social network - get your own profile, display links to your sites / streams
* Live social activity stream - post out to all members
* Share your gaming videos and photos for all to see
* Comment on each others posts
* Live streams from our team
* Members can create groups and send messages to each other (great for finding people to join servers etc..)

Features Coming Soon:

* Live pop up chat
* Forum (can create this any time, but we need more members before we make it)

Everything is in place to make a great community, we just need more members to fully review the workings of the site so if you would like to join us then register for free today at

The website looks nice, logo is really good, but you might want to add a favicon...
Anyway, signed up, it looks pretty good

Edit: Found a little problem in the site. It adjusts well to changing the browser window size (ie. if I make the browser into a really tiny window, it still looks good). But my web browser is too wide when full screen and it leaves a black bar down the right hand side of the page.
My screen res is 1366x768

WordPress? Really? IMO it doesn't allow enough customisation to be useful for a sight like this... that or you haven't utilised the full power of the customisation.

Overall it feels very professional, but it's that teency bit too generic. The logo is awesome and perfect, but if you can bring the feel of the logo into the whole sight, it'll be great.

Simply just moving the main site's body over to center (leaving equally sized black bars on either side) would look nice and be versatile across all screen sizes.

Thanks for the feedback, I know what you mean about the black bar, it's the same on my screen too. I will look into it.

I am using Wordpress at the moment, I am doing the site myself and my knowledge of HTML is limited! Who knows, if the site grows then I hope to employ a team of web designers. Currently our team consists of 3 authors who contribute to posts and help moderate the site.

@MrValentine, I'm not really a Manc, I'm from Wigan, but it's close enough! I think more people have heard of Manchester so I put that.

@Clonkex yeah I think he's from Wigan, I remember there was a Wigan address on the About page in DBO

I've now centred the theme, looks better! Thanks for the advice everyone! We may be looking to changing the theme soon to give it a more unique look, the site is still in it's early days yet

I think Lee lives in Wales somewhere ATM, but he does blog about going to his parents' place in Wigan sometimes (well, I assume it's his parents' place... he just says family)

You're a surprisingly real person, I have to say. When I first saw this thread I thought, "Ugh, another ad for some crappy empty template website", but I was completely wrong. Bravo on being genuine!

Cool, but it's not so necessary now. I don't know whether you did some light tweaks as well as the centring, but it really looks heaps better. Make sure you keep that logo though, it's awesome

Hahaha I've actually been a member here for about 10 years, I created a new account in 2011 though.

Thanks for the feedback, I changed the theme and have done some adjustments. Just need more members now! I'm going to create a short video detailing the site and how gamers can use it to meet other gamers, create groups and share content. Should be pretty cool when we get it going properly

@MrValentine - Thanks! I've not got round to tweeking the mobile site yet, thanks for the headsup!

@Yodaman Jer - Do it!

I think the groups could really make the site interesting. I've recently created a Destiny group where people can chat about anything Destiny related - even share videos and screenshots. Anyone can create a group and they can be public so anyone can join or private so just a select few friends can join.

I think the groups would be much more interesting than a forum.

I'm loving the feedback from you guys! Who knows, if the site takes off then this will be the birthplace haha

Don't know if you changed it already, but I don't see any black bar at 1920x1200. Content looks centered to me just fine.

@LiamBradbury

Good job with the website. It must have taken quite some time to put it together so well.

The design and layout of the website is a good but I think your welcome page is not very outstanding, quite like most of the other pages on the website. For the new visitor, the welcome page may be the only page they will ever see, unless it wows.

Good luck with the project, and thanks for letting us know about it. It will be nice to see how it progresses.

@Chris Tate - Thanks! yeah I know what you mean about the welcome page, the original plan was to have a video explaining the site on that page too but I've not finished making it yet, hopefully when that is up (which should be tonight) then it will look a little bit better. I think it's important to show people what the site can do, which is why I've opted to have a welcome page, because people might visit the site and just see the news section but it's so much more than that.

When I first saw it I was wondering if it was an ad bot that posted, then looked at the thread and saw that it was from a member that was an actual person.

@LiamBradbury
Looking very nice, however the main page loads just a little slow on my end so you may wish to reduce the number of elements??
