Does anyone know the cause of these junk pixels? I'm pasting a sprite over a pasted image. Both the pasted sprite and the pasted image are loaded using commands like load image "images\leftarrow.jpg", 1, 1. I'm positive the noisy pixels aren't in the actual image file.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I think it might be caused by the jpeg compression...

EDIT: yup... jpeg... I considered this before, but when I converted to bmp to test I didn't realize that, since it's in jpeg to begin with, doing a straight conversion to bmp is going to keep the errors too. You need to open the jpeg, remove the noise, then save to bitmap. So.. the workaround was to use bmp not jpg.

Use PNG, it's smaller than BMP and lossless (so no noise).

Plus you can use transparency when you use PNGs

It IS the junk compression, use a higher quality, or use png.
