Hey,

Just trying to figure out what I should try to work on for projects as I have many I start and stop, then go back to some. But, now I have too many ones on the go that I don't know what to do or to work on and even more importantly, what language to go with! I have done some in XNA some in GDK, some in DBP, and some with APK. But, not sure about going mobile anymore, and haven't touched DBP for a long time, but found it simple, just don't remember if it had the same kind of control over shaders and such that GDK or XNA has. Anyways, I have posted a similar topic in game design, but realize it's not really that frequently visited but didn't know where to go to post. So, here I'll go again, Sorry if posting here as well is a no, just thought it would be a better place.

So, for many of them, I have a concept, game-plan, play style storyline developed, and a little coding for the basic movement and set-up etc. I have main characters picked and modeled for all of them, which is why I'm having a hard time deciding, I don't want to continue with one to find out that it's not going to go too well and I wasted so much time modelling. I'm not the best programmer, but in my opinion I'm at least decent with modelling and concepts.

So, the main game choices I have are:

1) A sidescroller 2D puzzle/RPG/Adventer in the style of Metroid, where you are an alien trapped on a foreign toxic planet. The atmosphere is meant to be eerie and very dark.

2) A hack and slash game along the lines of final fantasy. The graphical approach for this is 3D models, but cell shaded to give a cartoon 2D appearance. Story goes: Based in the desert, you are a blind man, ex military. The home city is hovering high above the desert floor. It is run by wealth solely, and until recent, the inhabitants have been doing well, but now odd tests have occurred, people missing and military flood the once quiet streets of the slum quarter where you reside. You take on a pet Hyena during your endeavour to find out the truth to what is occurring, and are betrayed by the most unlikely people.

3) A post-apocalyptic game, where humans no longer rule the planet, in fact, they are extinct. Animals have become overly intelligent, more-so than humans ever were. This game is based in a very dark world, full of toxic gases and vile deformations. The gameplay will be along the lines of Final Fantasy Tactics and/or XCom. The current main character created is a Ferret, slightly mechanically modified and quite intelligent.

As said, mostly have the main models done, but just not sure which idea seems most viable. Which images look best. Anyone wishing to comment on the appearance of these models/gameplay thus far, PLEASE do!!!! I'm bored and need to get started working on something again. Thanks A lot!

Other options included:
A game along the lines of Ecco the dolphin but prehistoric.
A prehistoric style Oblivion/Skyrim game
A mobile point and click adventure game where you are an alien trying to escape area 51.
(sorry no pictures for these ones, but work has been done on them)

Pictures below are of the top three options, sorry they aren't the most detailed... but, just to give an idea of the main characters which I assume could let your imagination run a bit on what the world will look like.

Ferret Character for option 3)

Cartoon Main Character for Option 2)

Gameplay Picture for Sidescroller Option 1)

This was going to be used for sidescroller hack/slash where you are a kitsune (9 Tailed fox), but can easily be incorporated into the one with the Ferret.

Well you asked for input, and you said you want to go with the best option, and are bored with it now, me opinion is this:

Take options 2 & 3 and combine them, then replace the main hero with the 9 tailed fox via make it where the human character can turn into the 9 tailed fox. Make it a free-roam 3rd person and FF style at the same time, because your creativity in all 3 are good and they all could go together into one game. Use the storyline from option 2 and the rendering style of the 9fox image.

Good Work, are the characters animated and how long did it take and what did you make it with?

Thanks for taking the time to read through, good suggestion! It only took maybe a few days of modelling to make one of these models. Most are partially animated, except the human, but was going to start on that at some point, just tried to get the shader working first.

I use blender for the modelling. Though it can be a messy program to find my way around at times, I find it pretty powerful.

I have always wanted to work as a modeller, but never considered my work good enough. Though, if you want me to try some for you, I'll give it a shot (no charge), just send some concept art and let me know the detail wanted, and I'll get around to it. Life can be busy at times.

Anyone have a suggestion on what language I should probably use? DBP, DGK, APK, XNA? Or any other opinions on what to do/comments/critism? Thanks
