It's now 2 months until Christmas and I was hoping that Santa would be able to supply a special present this year...
With the focus of TGC being with FPSC:R and AGK/AGK2, poor DBP has seen very little love over the last few years (there have been very small updates to cater for some broken plugins but other than that, it's been pretty much zilch).
With version 7.7 RC 7 having lived a long and uneventful life (as far as I've read in the forums anyway); my wish is that we can get the official version currently 7.62) bumped out and the latest RC version pushed put as the new supreme ruler of the universe (or similar).
Please, please, pretty please, make this come true this year.

P.S. Please don't post back with sentiments similar to "you can already download and use the latest RC version now - what's stopping you?" The short answer to that is that my mind just likes things all neat and tidy and finalised - something like closure on this chapter of DBP. Thank you.

The fact that a handful of newer err recent paid plugins do not register on 7.7

I too wish for some even if a few fixes be made to DBP and knock it up to 8.0/8.1 just for kicks

As part of the FPSC:Reloaded work, Lee and company have made a lot of improvements and changes to DBP including a much faster compiler. The tentative plan, according to Lee, was that these updates would at sometime be made public via the source code and/or certain modules and feature improvements would be a paid upgrade. However a lot of this was discussed over a year ago and I wouldn't be surprised if these changes are withheld at least until FPSC:Reloaded is fleshed out which could still be many months.

Yep, that does sound good; but as you say, who knows when they will release this new and improved version of DBP?
What I want now is a fully functional version that's not still tagged as Alpha, Beta, or Release Candidate.
I'm sure that there will still be bugs in such a version, but they can always address these in a 7.8+ version or the new version you alluded to. Hoping that Santa can make this happen.

Please, do not salt a wound. Sigh.

mr Lee said that DBP development has been stopped. I think stopped forever.

Let me quote mr Lee:
Quote: "If you want to know what we're doing to replace DBP, check out the progress on AppGameKit V2 which will shortly be endowed with the remaining 3D commands to bring it up to DBP standards."

Nooooooo!!! I liked DBP, at least add multi-joystick support to it. The syntax in DBP is so simple, and DarkBasic Pro just sounds cooler in my opinion. It's like pro, and has the power of darkness or something.

I suppose AppGameKit isn't so bad. If it gets updated to DBP standards it could be a really good multi-platform tool.

I like games, and stuff.

Look for the x360 plugin on here... or alternatively here...

Be sure to check out the DarkBit Archive too and the other DBPro stuff...

I created the archive just for this reason Please do send me links or items to add to it if you have any suggestions, message me in a forum thread or in the PM system... which I check once a week at most...
