Hi,

I can't avoid white polygons with any directional light
configuration I use...
Does anybody know how to correctly control the "power"
of directional lights ?

It's most likely not your lighting that is causing that horrible white out. The specular light of your object is set too high in DBPro as a default, try this command on each of your objects:

SET OBJECT SPECULAR Obj,0

It will set the specular light to 0, but it won't make your object dark, just disables specular lighting.
