I used the Broadcast option for the first time and my Nexus-7 displayed the program within seconds. Worked excellent!

However, after I turned it off, my router would not work for about thirty minutes. I reset it and the modem a few times and finally I got it back online. Anyone else have an issue like this and maybe a fix?

I use broadcast on my wireless router regularly and have never had this problem.

Perhaps you are using the same ports for other things? Broadcasting uses port 5689.

Do you turn the program off at your handheld device first before clicking the Stop button on the AGK2 toolbar? I clicked the Stop button first and wondered if maybe that caused the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

One of the things that impressed me about AppGameKit v2 over AppGameKit v1 was that pressing the stop button actually stopped the app running on the phone or tablet.

Like BatVink, I've also never had any problem with it crashing my router.

Have you tried it again since? There is a chance that it could have been just a random one off kind of thing.

No I have not tried it again. I submitted a support ticket but there were 12 ahead of me, so maybe I will give it another try tomorrow. My connection was down so bad, I wondered if something broke. Always when I would reset the system it would come right back. This time it didn't. I could not even get into my router setup. That's bad.

EDIT 11-29-2014:
Well I got up the nerve to try this again, but this time I shut the app down from my Nexus first, instead of just clicking the Broadcast button to stop it while it's running. Worked perfectly.

We have had some really bad issues with our Internet provider, not them as far as service, but related to bad wiring in the overhead lines. It's Charter. We went through several months of losing our telephone and Internet (both through Charter) for hours at a time and several times a day and night. They have worked diligently on solving this issue and I believe it is fixed. So I have been a bit leery of trying this again.

The broadcast process uses a standard TCP connection for transferring the data and commands, and a standard UDP broadcast packet for device discovery. Neither of these should have any affect on a router, and I've not heard of this happening before, so it may have been a coincidence.

That's what I've decided, a coincidence. The timing was perfect too which is strange. I would rather it be coincidence than AGK2.
