Hi I just recently got AppGameKit 1 cause it came with the winter deal,do we get AppGameKit 2 free or do AppGameKit 1 users have to pay for AppGameKit 2 or is it a automatic free upgrade?

I ask cause I was wondering if AppGameKit 1 is going to be supported for long now that AppGameKit 2 is out. Plus when I go to thegamecreators.com AppGameKit 1 doesn't even show on the main page now, just AppGameKit 2.

I have also noticed that when I press on "Order" it don't even have a option to buy AppGameKit 1 anymore just AppGameKit 2.

Just wondering.

agk 1 is no longer getting updated as far as i know...

agk 1 users do not get agk v2 free... that will need to be purchased seperately. You can get it on steam or i suggest getting it from their website.

Well that bites, gonna have to trash AppGameKit 1 then, not going to bother to continue to learn AppGameKit 1 if they are not going to support AppGameKit 1,its pretty much useless to me now I have had AppGameKit 1 since last month I believe,Not going to waste my time with it anymore if no longer being updated

Can't buy AppGameKit 2 cause it costs too much at the moment, will wait till it goes on sale one of these days.

TGC Bumper Winter Sale just got a 2nd strike against it Sorry.

well dont be too discouraged about it... your agk v1 projects can be imported to run on agk v2... once you get it.

so you could still get familiar with how it works before upgrading to the new one.

all the commands from v1 are also in v2, there is just more of them and a better compiler.

By the time I can afford AppGameKit 2 newer versions could be out by then

I really want to make a games so flipping bad but my frakking mind won't move fast enough to learn I want to make a good enough game so I can make a profit and buy new versions of software and a new video card so FPSC Reloaded won't make my fan speed up so much. Being broke sucks

I was hopeing I could learn AppGameKit,FPSC and Dark Basic Pro by now so I can make my Nieces games and make the space games that I want to make. I want to make games and have something left behind so when I do die someday at least people/family won't forget me.

In which case you might as well make games in V1, skip V2 and buy V3* when it comes out.

Really? You seem to be spending more time coming up with excuses for not making games (sorry if that sounds harsh).

Don't worry about what V1 can't do and focus on what it can do. It can make games that'll work on the various platforms so make something, anything, and you'll start to feel a lot happier about it.

I don't know how familiar you are with coding / making games but you're a better man than me. I would be happy to learn one of these to a decent level.

In that case, may I suggest building yourself a massive pyramid, like those blokes in ancient Eqgypt, as these things seem to last for thousands of years

* I'm not saying there will be a V3, I have no insider knowledge, but it'll be interesting to see how TGC funds future development of AGK.

So, you paid $29.99 for a package containing 24 different items, one of which is AppGameKit 1 and now you want a free upgrade to the $69.99 AGK2? Does this really make any sense to you?

So because you don't have v2, v1 is trash? really? I and a lot of other people around there that have published games using v1 might disagree with that. AppGameKit v1 is very capable of creating excellent games. I might understand your point if v2 was completely different than v1 but the truth is that v2 is just a deluxe version of v1. Most of the commands in v2 are also in v1. Plenty of good stuff in v1 to be used to create great games. I've done it. Other people have done it and now if you want to, you can do it.

Good luck.

Echoes is made with V1. There aren't any AppGameKit V2 games out there as good as Echoes.

I can relate to what you are saying, because I often run projects on a shoestring budget too.

I am still using AppGameKit v1, but plan to upgrade to v2 when I make my move from BASIC to C++. I am going to purchase v2 with funds made from models sold in the FPSC store (have enough funds from the store now, just haven't cashed out for it yet). So, learning the ins and outs for FPSC can get you a step up in your software purchases too. Thanks to the support of the community.

That holiday bundle is a great deal for beginners and beyond. Get your feet wet in all of those great products for a ridiculously low price, then make the big purchase on the product you find the best fit for your needs.

If you have AppGameKit v1 then you should use it, else you'll be missing out on a lot of coding fun.

Don't confuse tiers with versions.
Both versions have 2 tiers.

It wasn't just AppGameKit it was also finding out that ya can't make a profit with FPSC Reloaded Bronze.I have learned to live with that so no biggie now.

Guess I will deal with AppGameKit v1 for now. Yes at the time a free upgrade to v2 did make sense to me,but since I found out that v2 is basically the same as v1 it doesn't bother me as much now.

The difference between AGK1 and AGK2 at the moment is primarily a nice new IDE overhaul - God bless Code Folding!

Also some nice new functionality!

This doesn't make AGK1 useless. Anything you make now in AGK1, you can simply open in AGK2 whenever you decide to upgrade. Just because something is no longer supported doesn't make it useless. People are still using VB6, and that was released in 1998

You can create tons of fun apps and games in AGK1 and release them with relative ease!

I will sing praises towards AGK2 for it's ability to export to iOS .ipa and Android .apk though (you can use the website to export AGK1 Android APKs though)
