I\'m having a problem changing the backgrounds of the various game screens in a built game. I know I used to be able to just swap out the image and it would show in the menu. Now it doesn\'t want to change. Even when I remove the backgrounds folder, the basic background continues to show. Is it written into the imageblock as well?

Hi xplosys
The "gamecore\backdrops" folder, right? I ran into that
exact problem about a month ago. No matter what I did it would not
switch images. Finally after a reboot (I think) it flushed
something out of memory and the changes took place
Took awhile.
best

My games never have bugs. They just develop random features..

Backgrounds will be compiled into the imageblock.bin file as well. in order to change your image, you will need to disable the imageblockbin setting in the setup.ini file to read "imageblockmode=0", swap your image, then set back to "1" to recompile the bin.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

That was what I thought at first but it didn't work for me after restarts. I also tried running it from a removable drive without the backdrops folder and it still showed the basic background.

Thanks for the confirmation. Hope you're doing well. Yellow say's hey and happy whatever you celebrate.

Thanks for the info, I'm stumped.
I don't know then what I did before to swap the images.
I must have recompiled it.

Me either. It seems like we had image block at the time I was doing it, but I don't know if I'm mistaken or perhaps the backgrounds were added to it at some point?
