HI Guys,

am trying to run AppGameKit sample on visual studio 2013 from one of the samples they provided but, am getting this error:

Quote: "the program can't start because XINPUT_3.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

am running the sample on visual studio 2013 and windows 7.

That's a DirectX error, so I suggest download the latest DX system, and then re-booting.

You may need DirectX 9.0c, which is NOT installed by default.

thanks JimHawkins

Yep I know it's direct X problem. I already have direct X installed from the install box that I use with DBpro and DBpro runs fine.

what direct X you're using?

Maybe this will help you:
DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)

You need to install DirectX 9.0c

This dependency is a bit of a "problem" especially for those who use Windows 7 & 8, since they already have a newer DX and have to install 9.0

Some aspects are still DirectX-based although the graphics are rendered with OpenGL. Audio is another one, it uses XAudio, but the required version is older and not part of Windows 8 so it still requires the June 2010 runtimes be installed to not get an error on launch.

This is an AppGameKit bug. It shouldn't require additional dll's to be installed by the user.

Fine if AppGameKit built a Windows installer that dealt with the issue too...

I agree, it would be nice if this was solved so AppGameKit projects doesn't require old versions of DX.

This was one of the more annoying things about DarkBasic Pro. Knowing which dlls you needed... a build time installer would solve it. Not so hard to do either if you know which dlls are needed...

Just guessing but isn't Xinput for the 360 controller? Would be new for alpha 9 in that case.
