whether I open a previous project or create a new one, the result is the same. I get the error: "Failed to compile project, it must contain a 'main.agc' file in the project directory".

There is one. I tried a save as to save the main.agc over itself but still the same result.
I tried re-installing AppGameKit but still the same result.

You can see the error in the screenshot and you can also see the existence of the main.agc file.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Check you path settings. Is the main file located where the project file is?

Sadly not,
The main.agc file is in the project folder and I have full permissions.
Both things can be seen in the screenshot.

Also, just for added fun - I can't create a new source file either.
I get this message when I try:

I think should install AppGameKit to another drive (no windows Drive).

I wonder if there's a corrupt settings file for AppGameKit somewhere, although reinstalling should have fixed that if that were the case.

Did you do a complete uninstall? By that I mean, did you remove any other folders AppGameKit might have interacted with, such as the ones found in %appdata%? Delete all project folders?

It's corrupted somewhere, what did you do before the problems showed up?
