How can I fade the image of a menu? so that the 3d world is a bit visible over the image?

Something like this:

Just reposting this image you posted... no need to redirect people for an image...

EDIT

....... those sites are so stupid, but anyway click the link icon to grab the Image link with BBCode in future

EDIT

For sprites, look at:

For Images on objects, you can use transparency:

Depends on how you are doing your menu, I find using 3D objects easiest...

Yes seems like we are posting at the same moment lol

By the way, I never used sprites, so basicly I assign an image to a sprite, and I use the paste sprite on the screen.
Looking at the syntax I do not understand the x and y variables, why I need them if I will decide later where to paste the sprite?

If you use Sprites, you can then use:

For easy click detection I think, if you look at the example code for that function, you can couple it with:

For a simple click mode...

I do not need to click, it's just a background image for the menu.
The menu it's already done using just the mouseclick() check with mousex() and mousey() to know where I am clicking.

I managed to let it work by using "hide sprite" after making it, so it just appears where I need to use it with paste sprite.

Thank you though for your help, if you can look at others post I have I still need help with a lot of stuff lol

I was just about to post some code

Will take a look...

Did you like these:?

EDIT

Also, I completely have no idea why I was thinking about the menu items and not the background

What other threads do you need help in?

This one for example:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=213209&b=1

Mainly the Evolved shaders are giving me a lot of problems, they looks great but they are or bugged somehow or hard to implement if more than 1 sharing parameters.

This one is related to the relief map bug, I also have bugs using his water shader, and can't get to work some dynamic shadows for my bones animated models (it share camera 1 with the water shader so I can't add it if I have the water already)

I did not comment on that one as I have zero experience with Evolved Shaders or much knowhow with Shaders at the moment...

There is no new Posts on the forum that I do not know about...

I have no plans to use Evolved Shaders at the moment so would prefer to avoid its syntax for the time being... Sorry... Post anything else you need help with and I will post on it when I see it and if I can find a solution for you, keep in mind I often more than not find Working solutions, which may or may not be the best for performance but something to build upon...

Did you like the code images?
