Hey all,

Again, I'm posting on the toon shader issues... So, unlike my previous model. I seem to be encountering a "blocky" look on the toon shader side of things and can't figure out why. Here is two images for comparison.

This is the most recent model. As you can see, each square in the model has become a "block" for the shading.

Here is my previous model, where you can see that the shading is smooth and not too blocky. A little here and there, but not bad.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is occurring? I have noticed this same issue on my world map and another model I made, but didn't think much of it. But, now that I looked at it closer, it seems odd.

Even increasing the poly count on the new model by subsurfacing (in blender) seems to just create smaller squares. I am using the exact same fx.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: Come to think of it, the only difference between them is that the new ones were modelled in blender 2.7, and the first two models which turned out fine were done in blender 2.45 then opened in blender 2.7 to finish up the animations and export from using the same exporter and settings. Can this have caused this? I don't see how... but, maybe?

Do you have it set to smooth or flat shading in blender?

Have you tried the set object smooth command in dbpro?

AHHHHH! Thanks Ortu!!! It wasn't set to smooth. I am still getting familiar with the new blender. You're a life saver!
