When I first try to run DB Pro, I get a message that the program is running in compatibility mode and I have to turn it off. I don't know what to do.

It happens with windows 8.1, the developers don't bother to fix it as they abandoned dark basic pro developement.
All what you can do is using an older or a different editor, I have attached here you the editor I use (the official one updated 2008), I have also the exe for the one of 2003 (but is too old) and the one of 2010 (which is bugged, folding functions don't work), but I suggest you using this one udpated 2008 attached here

don't worry, cescano. it's just MrV taking (yet another) opportunity to 1) play pseudo-MOD, 2) push his product.
you'll get used to it (while it won't get any less annoying).

@Shtirliz, come back if you continue to have issues. most of us offer help FOR FREE.

Actually that sounded advertising to me as well, by the way, I don't use synergy because I found an annoying bug on it, so i stick with the official one updated 2008 (I think it was something related to functions folding as well, which I use a lot so I MUST have it)
