Overlap2D has gone opensource

Since AppGameKit has no official editor, it be a possiblity to adapt this in the future, and start working towards an "AGK Studio" whilst still keeping the option to use AppGameKit in "manual mode" as it is now?

This is very interesting and looks like a great editor using not only sprites but particle effects too.

It would be good to be able to do all the level design and gfx work in the editor and then import it into AGK. It seems to have all the features which would work well with AppGameKit including lighting effects.

I think this could be another good earner for TGC if they look into things like this.

2D AppGameKit Guru - AppGameKit with compatible editor combined.
3D AppGameKit Guru - Similar thing when 3D commands come out for AGK.

or even combine everything into -

AGG - App Game Guru ????? Hmmmmm

Assest store for 2D, 3D, effects and lighting, etc.

With all the extra features this could bring and possibilities to the App market it would be great but would need a full team working on it to make it happen.

I don't know about everyone else but the option to either create a game with full code or a combined style of AppGameKit and editors creating some code for you which could then be modified would be great.

Coding with Basic, C++ and LUA.

Export to all markets like Playstation, XBOX, WiiU, etc, etc.

Sounds like I am describing Unity lol but with more control like AppGameKit!!

I know a lot of the features have not been added yet to AppGameKit like 3D but I would pay another Kickstarter for this to be added to AppGameKit and with the promise of a decent size team working on it to the end.

This would certainly attrack more than Game Guru as is now, however you could have Game Guru for novice users and App Game Guru for more serious pro side.

Just thinking out loud and going away with myself now lol

I keep thinking of loads of names here:

Regular - Game Guru
Pro for Apps etc with coding AppGameKit style - Game Guru Pro

Who knows! lol

There's no need for a big team to do this... Overlap2D is opensource! Just like the current T1 editor was integrated with the compiler...

Integrating it with AppGameKit could be the start of building towards an AppGameKit Studio type of product

I cant even export, save with this project. I tried making something simple not to many graphics and it does not save. . This looks like someone did not finish a project and just gave up on it.

I would like to see a level maker that used subimages as well as sprites, and animations in its loader. Maybe shaders as well I could actually build this in c++, but I think that no one would use it so I plead the fifth. I made a Tiled loader and exporter that works pretty well, but I don't even know if people use it. The problem with making a editor like this is that there is just not enough people welling to actually use it. They would have to understand your export for the project as well as have the ability to use it.
