Yup that's the idea. The Y axis is the one that moves the motor. The build plate will be very approximately 30cm x 30cm, and since it'll be a glass plate, it'll be quite heavy. For that reason I have two motors supporting the Z axis.

I thought of that, but I think it'll be ok. The only thing it stresses is the belt. I have pretty high-torque motors (78oz.in) so the motors should have no trouble handling it. Also there will be 2 belts running along the Y axis (one for each side), powered by a third (small, closed-loop) belt and pulley connected to a single motor, so I think the stresses will be pretty equalised.

I think if you're willing to risk the software issues (like being forced to use the manufacturer's filament unless you hack it) then it's a great printer. Not sure if it's worth the $650, though. I feel like there should be other, better printers for that much - but I haven't looked for a while and wouldn't know
