Look, I get that you mods want to make sure the forum is clean, but I hate waiting for you guys to check each post I make to make sure it's up to your standards.

But really, how long must this go on? If I was gonna be an *** I would have done so by now. Like, do you guys really think I'm gonna start stirring up a storm? I can prove that I have AppGameKit if that's what it will take; but I don't wanna wait for you guys to approve my posts because you guys really don't give a damn and end up taking forever.

How long am I going to be stuck in this state of peasantry?

Firstly, it's not up to the mods how long you are on new user moderation. It's part of the forum system.

Secondly, you just demonstrated why we have post moderation. You've insulted the mods by saying we don't give a dam. We encourage healthy debate but that doesn't extend to throwing insults.

If you read the AUP (which you agreed to when you signed up) you'll see that the mods are unpaid volunteers. We are not sat at a desk waiting for new posts to appear. The first thing I do when I load up the forum is approve all new posts. That probably adds up to a couple of hours a month I could be coding or having a life.

There's a lot more important things to worry about in life than your post getting approved.

When I first joined, I didn't care how long it took for my posts to get approved. If I recall correctly it only lasted a couple of weeks, and as BatVink said it's part of the forum policies and system, no way to get around it.

Demanding to be removed from it only further proves the point that it should be enforced.

You joined on the 22nd. That's not even two weeks, give it a couple more days and you'll probably be off.

I seriously suggest you use a bit more nettiquette in the future, though. We a friendly forum and would love to have you as a member, but please refrain from insulting our hard-working unpaid moderators, who have a life outside of the forums.

Also, I feel I should point this out - most of the moderators are on the other side of the world, and are sound asleep when you post. You're in Canada so it WILL *probably* just take longer for your posts to get approved by default because of the differing timezones.

So, be patient, and now that I have said all that, I will welcome you to the forums! Have a beer (if you're legally allowed to )

Someone once said it takes about 10 posts for that to be gone.
I can't remember who or if its true, but just post your stuff like you would if it didn't need approval, and it should be gone soon.

It can be a pain though, for new users asking for help.
So, I can relate to the frustration caused by it.

It does kinda punish people before they have done anything wrong.
It may seem better to save that for the first punishment instead of default, but the forums have been that way forever and a day.
TGC knows what works best for their forums, so trust them when they say it is for a good reason.
Just remember one thing, we all had to do it, even the moderators when they were new.
Pay your dues, and be glad there was nothing that would require saying... "thank you sir, may I have another".

lol I was drawn into this thread by the title.
I thought, ut oh, someone is complaining that I post too much.

Welcome to the forums.

That seems very logical, but it doesn't work. As moderators we nuke and ban about 10 accounts a week, that you never see on the forum. They range from Indian flower sellers to people trying to market non-TGC games for free, and then the expected ads for potions, pills and other "services". The original reason for implementing new account moderation was somebody who got banned and so came back with a new account and posted pornography so obscene it was probably illegal in most countries.
