Unfortunately anything created using AGK1 & AGK2 using the T2 templates does not work under Windows 10.

AGK1 apps do work on the same Windows 10 using Win8 compatibility mode

AGK2 apps do not work. I know that AGK2 needs parts of DX9 installed. You cannot install DX9 on Win10

Am I the only one with this problem?

I am using the default template & VS2013

problem is definitely related to DX

if i put xinput1_3.dll (64bit version) in the program folder, the app works fine with an XAudio2 warning message.

If I use the 32bit version of xinput1_3.dll the app crashes on 64bit Win10

I'm stuck....

finally i managed to find the right DXwebinstaller to install the right DX on Win 10

and now it WORKS!

the problem is that the user will get no warning if he just has a vanilla Win10 (like I had), and the app simply crashes

i am thinking of packaging xinput1_3.dll. at least this way there is some sort of warning

any thoughts how to handle this DX hassle??

i think its best to give the dx runtime (not single files) with your game and
add it to a installer, dx setup should be optional.

if u can use this installer please verify the location.
i used it long ago but not know the location in web.

i will include DXsetupweb with the game and hope for the best

i'm really annoyed that an opengl game engine needs DX!!!!

but at least there is a workaround

me are much annoyed generally about software developing situation currently.
my opinion is, do not make a app that runs at all devices.
make one os for all devices and boycott all manufacturer which make her own thing.
that means web goes app.

@bjadams Can you provide a link to the runtime web thingy??? I just got a lappy with Win8 and it doesn't have xinput1_3.dll. I tried looking for the DX Runtime Web Installer, but every link takes me to Microsoft's "Download Win10" page--that's not what I want to do. I finally just got the dll from http://www.dll-files.com/ but there are TONS of super shady sites; I'd rather get it from Microsoft, so I am more assured that it wasn't tampered with.

I just wiped windows 10 off my computer yesterday...Im back to a clean install of 8.1. I Searched everywhere for Dx Runtime on Microsoft also, I could not find it anywhere. Everything is pointing you towards windows 10. I am not happy with Microsoft at the moment...Im slowly being pushed towards Apple.
