Does DarkBASIC Pro write word in little or big endian?

EDIT: A bit short info in the question there, sorry (Haha, get it? Short = 2 bytes, Word = 2 bytes). Anyway, when I write a word to file, which format does "write word file_number,(2 byte word)" use? Little or big endian?

Least significant: most significant; If, I understand the terminology correctly would mean Little Endian. Which seems backward to me. If the most significant byte is last, shouldn’t it be BIG END-ian.
