I just ran an Antivirus/Malware program and it shows me this. Can I delete it?

Can I get rid of it? Thanks.

Yes, I would get rid of it. Malwatebyte ought to offer the option to you once the scan is completed!

Not much is known about the file, but it does appear to be typical malware which will just slow your computer down horrendously.

No, it didn't come with Windows. It's not a system file. This thread goes into quite the discussion about it.

If you don't let Malwarebytes delete/quarantine it, then you'll have problems.

I don't know where you guys get your info but renounce.exe is a system file

Here read some bits here

https://www.bing.com/search?q=runonce.exe&form=EDGENT&qs=AS&cvid=fabd40b49fbc4e20bd3b0f6ef2743222&pq=runonce.exe&nclid=%2FicHQhYLM46upOQ5MowGUA%3D%3D&ts=1439824229447&nclidts=1439824229&tsms=447

It could be that his system was affected somewhere else, or this is a false positive... I have never ran Malwarebytes probably because of the daft choice of name... I suggest running a proper tool to scan your system, I could not care less about tools like MWB... never ever had to use them...

BatVink I got to stop reading stuff as soon as I wake up on here thanks for that...

Hmm, Safe Mode might be best route to removal no?

Silly mistakes like that can cause some serious damage. But, we're only human, eh?
