Had some time to work on the "hand torch" and textures needed.
Wanted to add some sort of "burning cloth" in the center of the flames. May have gotten it right? Tell me what you think.

Wanted to get the cloth with a sort of glow & burning embers effect. Used Bond1's animated shader, and after playing with the textures got it to work. Will clean up the files and release
in a cpl. days.

It looks really great!

Is it actually emitting light like bond1's LED lamp?

@The Storyteller 01 Yes it is, set the torches gunspec set to a constant "firerate". That way the muzzleflash stays lit.

Here are the torch files. Have fun with it, no restrictions as
always. Could use some help on this. I included a readme that explains the problem. I added extra animation for an attack/block move (rmb click) but the light will not stay lit for that move.
Any suggestions for the "gunspecs" would be great.
Problem shown in video.

@ncmako :- Nice model and works great and many thanks for this.

I don't think you can have the block and flash at the same time because you wouldn't have a flash of light when blocking with a gun.

I think it hardcoded to not show the flash when blocking but you could use a different method using the flashlight script but the only problem is it don't work with shaders.

I could be wrong and would need to look at the source to be 100% sure.

Thank you S4real. Yes, my thoughts also on the matter.

Have been looking into the gunspec commands and hoping to
get maybe (alt)fire or maybe "zoom automatic fire" to work
as a block/melee attach? Will get back with this.

Holy Cheddar Cheese Cow Pats Batman!

Mako that is freaking awesome! Can I Use it in my game?!

Something like this would be super sweet and of course all credit to you and whoever contributed

Just a question. Is it working in Vanilla or is it using a source mod?

I reverted back to vanilla after my old machine blew and im having problems with black ice on win 7 (think its related to my laptops hardware configuration but thats a diff story)

Still that looks awesome!

smoke em if you got em

Absolutely, no credit is needed. Make any changes you need to.
Only the shader is from Bond1, that may need credit to him?

Quote: " Is it working in Vanilla "

Yes, I have been testing in V1.20, Nomad Mod & Black Ice and seems
to be working just fine. Look's better with Black Ice
using high resolution textures in V4.8 and up.

Note: To anyone using it, the animated shader needs the "D.dds" and
"I.dds" textures. But for some reason to make this "torch" work
properly I realized it needed a duplicate "I.dds" texture RENAMED
as an "N.dds" I don't understand why, but it does.
It took me awhile to figure that one out...

@ncmako - great job with the torch - the effect of the cloth and flame together is fantastic.

Do you mind if I try and convert your work for Game Guru/Reloaded?

I've started already with some success, but obviously wouldn't release if you're not OK with that.

Cheers.

@cybernescence Great, you got it to work in GG
Yes! By all means use/release it in GG. Your video
looks fantastic. I tried relentlessly to get it to work
in GG, but could not. Would love to see how you did it.
Can you get the "block/attack" animation to play?

The hand torch is a good fit for survival horror and dungeon based games. Keep up the good work!
